Directions

  • Bake the sheet cake

  • When the cake is about 5 minutes away from being done cooking, prepare the frosting.

  • Pour warm icing over warm cake and spread evenly.

White Sheet Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups AP flour

  • 2 Cups Sugar

  • 1 Cup Water

  • 1 Cup Salted Butter

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda

  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt

  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream or Plain Greek Yogurt

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Grease a 13x18 Sheet pan.

  • In one bowl, mix Flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.

  • In a separate bowl, mix together yogurt, eggs and almond extract.

  • Add to the flour mixture and mix just until combined.

  • In a medium saucepan, add water and Butter over medium heat and bring mixture to a boil.

  • Once the mixture is boiling, add to the batter and mix until combined.

  • Pour batter into the sheet pan and smooth with a spatula until even.

  • Bake for 17-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

White Cake Frosting

Ingredients

  • 6 Tablespoons Milk

  • 1/2 Cup Salted Butter

  • 3 3/4 Cups Powdered Sugar, sifted

  • 1 Teaspoon Almond Extract

Directions

  • Add milk and butter to a saucepan, bring to a boil.

  • Remove from heat and stir in powdered sugar and almond extract.
